I am inspired by the beautiful shapes forms and colours found in organic growth and natural forms. This body of work in particular is very much inspired by the work of Graham Sutherland. I am excited by organic growth and natural forms. My ideas and work are based around my own perception of nature and my surroundings. I am particularly interested in the shapes, forms and colours found in this subject. And it is this subject matter that provides a catalyst for my art. I find that there are strong decorative qualities naturally inherent in organic growth and natural forms, although this is not my main concern. I am interested in the surreal qualities found within these images and how viewing these objects from different aspects can create strange perspectives. I see my work as containing representational imagery of individual organic beings or organic portraits.
