I live on the borders of England and Mid Wales. I am a plain air painter, I sit in the landscape painting which brings me closer to the land and the environment, feeling and becoming part of it. This work forms part of my research on the River Severn which I followed from its source on the mountain Plynlimon to where it joins the sea, at the Severn Estuary. Working in the open often gnats, flies, grass, rain get caught in the paint and form part of the work; this is all part of my painting process.
