The Calendar is a single point of reference for the remarkable range of arts and cultural events and festivals that take place in Ludlow.
How to use the calendar
- The calendar opens at the current month. Use the arrow keys to move to other months.
- Above the calendar are tick boxes for various categories - music, visual arts, etc. You can 'un-clutter' the calendar by un-ticking categories you are not interested in and clicking the 'Update calendar' button.
- Put your mouse over an event or click an event to see more information.
- At the top right of the screen is a 'Feed Entries' link. Click this to place a direct feed of information onto your own Internet browser ("RSS feed").
You need to contact the organiser of an event to arrange tickets. Different organisations have different methods of selling tickets - some online, some by post, some by annual membership, etc., and, at present, there is no uniform way to sell tickets across all events.

What to do if an event changes or is cancelled
Please, please let us know of any changes or cancellations. We do not want Ludlow's fine reputation to be damaged by incorrect information in the calendar.
Background
The end of 2008 and early 2009 saw the credit crunch, unemployment, declining incomes and recession. Local economies suffered and Ludlow was no exception. Several small businesses and shops closed as visitor numbers fell. A group of Ludlow people connected with the arts talked about what could be done: How could more people be encouraged to visit the town? How could empty shops be re-occupied?
One idea was to place art in the windows of empty shops, and in other shops and venues in the town to brighten up the townscape, to make the empty shops less depressing and to help encourage more visitors. 'Art in Ludlow' was formed and, between April and January 2010, the art work of 50 artists was shown about the town. The results were well received. By early 2010 most empty shops had been sold or re-let and there were strong signs of an improvement in trade in the town.
As the project progressed we received many compliments about the benefits of a website that pulled together all visual arts events in a single place, with the added comment that it would be really useful if this could be extended to other events such as music, dance, theatre, film, etc. Thus, the orignal Art in Ludlow project has evolved to a calendar of all arts and culture events in and near to Ludlow. The extended website was launched on 31 March 2010.
